Family, best friends, the midwest does tradition well. It did not feel like Christmas until I landed in Chicago and then all of a sudden, I was filled with the spirit.
We went down to State Street, where I was almost everyday last year, to look at the window displays. The city was filled with the hustle and bustle of Christmas shoppers and holiday joy.
I love California but I adore and miss my people of Chicago.
