the lipnosky dacha | inverness, california

This Dacha is right across the street from my cafe. It is a replica of a Russian summer home built on a pier on Tomales Bay in Inverness, California.

My friend in the city asked me about it the other day and while I had walked and driven by it numerous times, I never had my camera in hand.

Apparently, it is a photo stop here in Point Reyes. I meet a few others taking shots too including Lauren Germans father. He was cool. I have no idea who she is as I don't watch TV but he said she was on some TV show filmed in Chicago. And also, ironically, she was in that movie Hostel II which every person who hasn't traveled asks me if that is the way my life goes. I have never seen it but I think it's a movie about American backpackers murdered in a hostel, which is...exactly how my life goes.

Anyhow, photographing this, I spent a good time looking at every last detail. It's pretty neat. It has a main house on the water and then a separate pier with a coach house. The grounds have sandy beaches and big beautiful trees. It's a shame, you used to be able to rent it out but it is now private.

Oh, to have a neat home in Inverness...
