talk about the golden hour...
I did a lot of driving last weekend. I was hungry for images. I was ready to take back the Golden Hour.
I went to Oakland for my first time. Wow. I can see why my fellow Chicagoans love it so much as it reminds me of our city. Viaducts and graffiti, culture and style and crime to keep you on your toes. The street art and the way the setting sunlight drowned the buildings in an amber-golden hue. It was gorgeous. Who wants to do a photo shoot? I would love to do some engagement photos in some of the abandoned buildings, graff in the back ground, super contrasty shadows...
I also drove the very windy Bolinas-Fairfax road and spent some tranquil moments on the reservoir watching the young boys fish. I then descended on the curvy road with views of the mighty Pacific and a complete overview of the Bolinas Lagoon. Gorgeous.
I high tailed it on Highway One towards Marshall for these Golden Hour shots. Our cows of West Marin. I never tire of them.
There is never a bored moment in California and I have yet to venture far. There is so much goodness here from nature to agriculture to amazing people, I am completely in love with it all.
I feel myself becoming apart of the community now. I go out to places in West Marin and I know people. I have regular places that I go to where I feel a sense of community- my yoga studio, the sauna, the health food store, or the coffee shop. With so many years on the road, I have craved community and I feel that West Marin is where I belong and I can't wait to get more and more involved.
And to re-commit myself to the brilliant Californian golden hour...
