| taken yesterday at baker beach, nudists in full force! |
I pick up my teeny car, fork over a $400 check to my friend who borrowed it for a broken window, which makes me never want to live in Oakland but with a string of bad luck, I am not going to let it all get me down because I am back in sunny California. I get on Highway 101 drenched in amber, honey colored light. This drive that I know and love. "God, I am back."
I don't even go home, I have been away for 2 months and I drive down a secret country road to catch the sunset over Tomales Bay.
One of my favorite things to do is drive around California, windows open, music blasting, sun shining- this place makes you happy.
You have to fight for California. She won't come easy but she is well worth it. Thought of leaving had been on my mind as the affordability is insane (but there's some secret good news to be talked about later...) But, if you can make this relationship work, that golden hue infuses into your soul. People are happy out here on this coast and it shows.
I brunched with Tori, I was given so much love by the baby here (she knew I was sad and wouldn't let me go...sweetest thing ever), I saw Shane and got brotherly love and I saw my favorite co-workers at my favorite job at the Meadery. The first day back at work, the heat was flowing through the house and I had a great time working again. After 2 months of no agenda, being on task is the shit!
I guess you could say, it's good to be back.
