Days are busy these days. Two jobs and a side biz keep a girl on her toes.
I take moments when the light is right to walk around Jordan's flower garden. It brings stillness into my life.
I had a busy last two weeks. And J was outta town so I was given the task of harvesting cucumbers and squash. At first, after a busy Sunday, I tried to rush and get it done. Have you ever tried to rush a cucumber harvest?
It's nearly impossible.
First off, they are hidden under massive leaves and you have to find them and second, they are spiky. It was a lesson in slowing down, letting the work happen and finding calm. I soon let my to-do list go and found meditation and bliss in finding the harvest. It was much better than going home and sitting on the couch. The light was right and the colors were therapy.
My fingers were dirty and scraped up for days. I love being used up, earth under my finger nails, war wounds of hard work.
