eucalyptus in bloom
For years I have talked about how the eucalyptus blooms in the winter when I explain to our customers what nectar source our bee's forage on in the winter.
And every winter, I always squint my eyes and look high up in the eucalyptus branches to see nothing.
The other day, instead of turning home, the light was so stunning that I kept on driving highway one, hunting for image. I went up to Tomales Bay, took a peak at the sunset and turned around when I saw a low hanging branch in my periphery. It was full of eucalyptus blooms! I slammed on my breaks, did a U-turn and snagged a few shots. Oh, what a pleasant treasure to find after all these years! The eucalyptus comes out of her elusion.
I am missing spontaneity and creativity in my life. A life that is so full with a great job, great people, so many things but gone are the days of endless wandering with my camera and it feels like a part if me is missing. It is a practice, like yoga or mediation. It is not always easy to load up my gear and disappear on a mission. And though I live in a stunning on environment, I need new environments for the ultimate inspiration. As life seems to be granting me all my wishes these days, I will put on the list: to create art.
