Beach bonfire x Rosé x Friends

It's been a long winter. It's hard to remember the last time we could gather outside.

I chose California to be close to nature. We are lucky here, every drive I take home from work is world-class, like a car commercial. Rolling hills hug you as you zip through the curvy roads. Cattle speckles the landscape and the light...it's golden, like no other golden you've ever seen.

When I first moved out here, my weekends consisted of bonfires on the beach. What a dream to have a beach bonfire. The stuff California dreams are made of.

I've taken a new job and moved from Point Reyes. I used to have a dream world in which to generate content and in the search for content I choice to go to my old stompin grounds with bottles of Rosé in tow and a small group of friends invited.

Before it became a hipster, trendy thing, years ago I wanted to create a book about gathering. My joy in life comes from gathering with friends outside and sharing food and wine. And last Saturday reminded me, I need more of this.

We got there early and opened a bottle of champagne as I built the fire. The fog was rolling in and we were sure, getting a sunset was a bust. But, as it does, West Marin should us all her glory.

It's these simple moments that can give you joy for days after. I need a gentle reminder, that life is pretty dreamy...
