Some images from my bedroom.
1. Faviken. I am in love with this Swedish chef and his cookbook. He lives in rural Sweden and forages and hunts for his menu. The book is stunning and as well as a cookbook, it is a great read that transports you back to simpler times.
2. Vintage map of Alaska. I found this in the cabin in the woods that I lived in my first season in Alaska. It travels with me everywhere, reminding me of the epic state.
3. Hawk feathers found in the woods nearby, given to me by a local forager.
In other news, the road to my home and job has been washed out, so we are currently closed for business. Some rangers fear, we could be closed for months as it is still the rainy season. I am curious as to what plan b for us staff is. Maybe I will have to start foraging 100% for my food to save on money. Could be an adventure!
