new years eve eve day in san francisco

When I went home to Chicago, I picked up my old dSLR. About 1/8th the price of my current camera.

Last week, pre New Years eve, I took just that old camera to San Francisco. I shot in jpeg and not raw. I went back to simpler shooting and I loved it. I loved the lightness of the camera in my hand, the ease, how I could stealthily wip it out and shoot with one hand.

I still do love the crop sensor as I like to fill the frame. I suppose I don't have the right lenses for my full frame camera. But, it was nice shooting the way I used to.

My friend and I decided last minute to go bop around the city so he could show me his old spots from years living in North Beach. Lunch at Greens (window table!)– oh how I remember longing to go there 13 years ago when I was Vegan! Then post espresso at Cafe Trieste with people watching included. And of course, some  China town!
