point reyes farmstead cheese company | point reyes, california

Just over the hill and along highway one, off of Tomales Bay, is Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company.

You have all seen their cheese, I am sure. It's the Californian blue cheese. Yup, they live just around the corner from us.

And let me reiterate, I live in the best place on earth. It's almost as good as France minus the salutations and proper use of cutlery and add yogini's and buddhists.

H and I attended a farm dinner at the farm on Wednesday. We drove up a teeny, windy farm road to a beautiful, bight and airy building that had two table set for twenty.

They have these meals once a month where they feature a local farmer and have a 5 course meal (starting with a cheese course and bubbly mingling season on the deck)

The crowd was the a mix of eccentric, artistic West Marin folk. My favorite being the retired designer who wants to master the art of rice farming. I just adore retired, liberal eccentric types (so Evanston).

The dairy farmer and potato farmer where pretty awesome as well.

I was a bit too overwhelmed to focus on getting a lot of shots. (Antibiotic-fog brain from the worst tooth infection ever and yes, I drank wine). So, we will have to go back.

My next desire to volunteer on a farm as I don't get to play in the dirt enough or be around food production (two things that have always been in my life until now). Oh, if I could just do every hobby full time!
