The first rain hit last week.

What an odd sound, that pitter patter on my roof as I slept. We have not had rain in a long, long time.

I walked out into the farm to gather some rocket for dinner. Mud filling itself in the crevices of the soles of my boots, what a forgotten feeling.

This little coastal town gently falls into it's winter hibernation. This is something, that I told myself I'd adore when in the middle of a busy summer but I find myself restless for something I haven't longed for in a good long while; the city. I want to walk the streets and see people and different people, different colors and ages. I want to pop over and have a drink with a friend, coffee with the girls, mingles with strangers.

This is the time of year where us small town folk have to band together, have dinner parties and nights listening to the rain together, it's rather rewarding in it's own right. Time to actually get together with all those new friends made over the past year. As well as, time to sneak off to the city more often and get that dose of much needed culture and people.
