Septime | Paris

We had to wake up early three weeks before our desired reservation date to secure a spot at Septime—and I’m so glad we did!

I had just arrived from Limousin, while Hanna and Ocean had already been in Paris for a few days. Kiara, meanwhile, was fresh off the plane.

Since the menu was a surprise, I took a leap of faith and ordered a zero-dosage, biodynamically farmed rosé champagne. It paired perfectly with every course, and it was so delicious that we went searching for more bottles to bring with us to Provence.

Our server, as it turned out, had once lived in San Francisco, worked at A16, and even did a harvest with Arianna Occhipinti years ago. Naturally, we discovered we knew many of the same people. I love how small the wine world can be.

Kiara and I enjoyed gluten-free versions of every dish. Our favorite was the delicate lettuce wraps, meant to be eaten by hand and served with scented water and warm towels to clean up afterward.

It was the perfect long, leisurely lunch in Paris—filled with a reunion of my best girlfriends, unexpected connections, great food, excellent wine, and plenty of fun photos!
