Provence

Do you ever go to a place and just feel right? Grounded, happy, and free? That’s how I feel in Provence. My Mediterranean-Cretan blood feels right at home.

After I left Limousin, I met up with two of my best friends and her daughter in Paris. The ultimate girls’ trip. We hopped on the high-speed train to Aix-en-Provence.

We booked an Airbnb just a week before, and the pickings were slim, but we ended up staying on an organic vineyard in a beautiful old home with a church, swimming pool, hiking trails, and, always a favorite, kitties.

We arrived at the vineyard to find a local chef preparing us a beautiful en plein air meal with plenty of rosé wine from the estate.

I adored waking up at sunrise and hiking the trails up the mountain to catch the Provençal views. The herbaceous scents propelling me up the hillside, in my grounding sandals, were my favorite way to start the day.

We lunched at @lepigonnet and enjoyed a bottle from @clos_cibonne , which I once heard someone aptly call “rosé royalty.” Indeed.

There were drives to villages, slow meals, antique shopping, photo taking… the time was too short! I’m already planning the next trip.
