You always hear about summers in the Northeast. After months of brutal cold and snow, it’s what folks above the 39th parallel live for.
I never felt pulled to the Northeast. I grew up in the Midwest, moved to the West Coast at 18 with 10 years abroad mixed in between but now that I have a home in the Catskills, I’m starting to get it.
Kiara and I have come a long way from bartending on the beaches of Thailand in our 20s. It was a joy to welcome her family to my new venture and explore the charm of Upstate New York together.
I’m still new to the region, but it already feels like home. In just a few months of traveling up from Georgia, I’ve built more meaningful connections than I did in five years down South.
And now… I’m fully booked! Will there even be space to visit again soon?
